Xbox chief Phil Spencer has announced that Microsoft are now fully focused on bringing new exclusive games to the Xbox One.
2017 has seen some big launches for both the PS4 and Nintendo Switch, however, the same can’t really be said about Xbox.
A small smattering of exclusives have been confirmed so far, although it appears things are set to change.
Speaking to The Guardian, Spencer revealed that there are plans afoot to bring new content to gamers, much in the same way Microsoft have looked to improve other features on the Xbox One.
“Right now the focus is really on the content that we’re building,” he said.
“I know I get some community pushback on our first-party [slate], and what position we’re in, and I want to say to people: that same level of commitment you felt from myself and from the team as we’ve evolved platform over the last three years – as we’ve evolved service over the last three years, as we’ve evolved and innovated hardware over the last three years – is going on with our first party.
“I don’t want to go and pre-announce a bunch of things, but we are upping our investment, there’s no doubt about that.”
The new gaming pledge comes just a month before E3 2017 is set to kick off, meaning there could be some big announcements planned. We’re unlikely to hear anymore until June, however, Microsoft will be hoping to rebound from the recent disappointment following the cancellation of Scalebound.
In other news that is sure to intrigue Xbox fans, it appears that Activision may be planning a new Call of Duty Black Ops 2 Zombies Chronicles pack on consoles.
A new Call of Duty Black Ops 3 Zombies bundle could be released in 2017 on PS4 and Xbox One, according to two retail leaks.
It appears that several outlets may have released information early on a COD product named: Zombies Chronicles.
The new Call of Duty Black Ops 3 Zombies product will reportedly include eight remastered Zombies maps, making it the BO3 definitive collection.
Zombies mode is known to be one of the most popular parts of the Call of Duty franchise, having started with World at War back on the Xbox 360 and PS3.
It has slowly moved onto other games, which bring their own flavour and settings to the multiplayer mode.
However, Treyarch’s original arc recently finished in Black Ops 3 and has proven the most popular among fans.
These are the translated descriptions of the Zombies Chronicles physical release from two different retailers:
Polish Retailer: “Call of Duty Black Ops 3 Zombie Chronicles is the latest set that includes the original Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 gameplay complete with Zombie Chronicles – 8 original maps renewed for the next generation of Call of Duty.”
Mexican Retailer: “It is a full suite which brings the original contents of Black Ops 3 and the content of Zombie Chronicles, includes 8 classic maps of Treyarch Zombies remastered and all the maps include the Gobblegum function.”
Other sources have apparently confirmed that the Black Ops 3 Zombies release date has been set for June 27.
