Samsung S5620 is Samsung’s First Monte Phone

The first Samsung Monte branded phone has now been released on Virgin Mobile, the Samsung S5620 is a new touch screen device that incorporates all of the essential ingredients for social networking on the move.

This first release from the new Monte range offers both WiFi and HSDPA for fast internet connections, uploads and downloads which will suit social networkers when sharing photos, status updates, video and general internet browsing.

The first network to launch the new Samsung Monte is Virgin who have made the S5620 available on every single one of their pay monthly tariff deals, Virgin are very competitive when it comes to offering inclusive internet packages with their tariffs which will mean that the user gets unlimited access every month.

The main features of this latest Samsung phone include a 3 inch touch screen, 3.2 mega pixel camera, the Samsung TouchWiz user interface and 3.5G support. With a large focus of the phone on social networking there is support for most major websites including Facebook, Bebo, Twitter and Myspace with widgets on the hone screen for quick access.

There is also a comprehensive multimedia player with a 3.5mm audio jack so that the user can plug in their own set of headphones rather than having to use the pair supplied, the Samsung S5620 also supports Stereo Bluetooth which further adds to the music experience.

There are a few handsets currently available that can compete well against this latest Samsung phone, LG has released their LG Pop which offers a better camera, Nokia have their Nokia X6 which integrates further multimedia options, there is also the Sony Ericsson Vivaz which takes the photographic features even further with HD support and an 8 mega pixel camera and Samsung themselves have launched the Samsung Galaxy Portal which runs on the Android operating system.

Other competing phones which have been around for some time but fall into a similar price bracket include the Samsung Tocco Lite, LG Cookie and Nokia 5230 all of which offer a similar sized touch screen.

Although initially released on the Virgin network there are further plans for this new Samsung phone to be launched by Orange as well as other major networks over the coming weeks, in other markets the Samsung Monte is known under different names with Spain opting for the Samsung Onix.
