ARK Survival Evolved update PS4 patch arrives as Xbox One fans wait for news | Gaming | Entertainment

The new ARK Survival Evolved update was released on PS4 today, arriving in the early hours.

“PS4 Patch v515 will be deployed in 20 minutes. It is currently going through the PSN Network,” a message from developers Studio Wildcard explains.

The latest update to the popular crafting-survival title provides a short list of improvements, including an Ice Wyvern Model.

There are other more useful additions too, with fans now able to build in orbit camera mode.

Other much-needed updates include better translations, and the ability to cancel PGM Generation.

Fans may also notice a smoother ride when it comes to the latest creatures added to The Island.

Both the Phoenix and Otter were apparently not showing up for some users, with various fixes now deployed for the two in this latest build of the game.

And while it’s all good news for PS4 fans, Xbox One ARK Survival Evolved players are still waiting for this latest content.

The delay may have something to do with fixing the Phoenix and Otter, as neither creature has arrived on the Microsoft gaming machine, as of yet.

Studio Wildcard developers have confirmed that a new ARK patch for Xbox One is in the works, and has reached the Microsoft certification process.

Some of the delay is also down to Hurricane Irma, which hit Florida last week and affected Wildcard’s teams.

“Ok power’s finally back on post-Irma. Time to go survey the damage, ARK update: Xbox Phoenix/Otter update in Cert (long-cert for retail),” a message from the Studio reads.
