The US Open is the largest annual sports event in the world, with over 700,000 fans descending upon the US Tennis Center in New York. The United States Tennis Association has collaborated with its technology partner, IBM, for the past two decades to deliver a great fan experience. This year, we’re making the most of cloud, mobile, analytics and social computing to help bring the millions of US Open fans — whether they’re on the grounds or around the world — even closer to the heart of the action. All of the technology is powered by an IBM cloud infrastructure, which allows the US Open to automatically scale up or down, depending upon spikes in demand on the popular USOpen.org web site and other services.
