Tetsuya Nomura Says No ‘Final Fantasy VII Remake’ Or ‘Kingdom Hearts 3’ In 2017 : Games : Gamenguide

Tetsuya Nomura was recently interviewed by Famitsu and was able to share some information regarding “Final Fantasy VII Remake” and “Kingdom Hearts III.” However, Nomura hints that both titles are still under development and might not hit the markets anytime soon.

The magazine mentions that 2017 marks some notable milestones for Square Enix. This year holds the anniversaries of the company’s beloved titles, it’s the 30th for the “Final Fantasy” franchise, 20th for “Final Fantasy VII,” and 15th for Kingdom Hearts.” He adds that they will be releasing “Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8” this month followed by a “Final Fantasy VII” snow exhibit during Sapporo’s Snow Festival event in February. March would also have the launch of “Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 Remix,” Siliconera reports.

Famitsu also asked Tetsuya Nomura the development status of “Final Fantasy VII Remake” and “Kingdom Hearts III.” He elaborates the latter is going through a different production process, so he could not give an estimated timeframe for its completion. Gematsu says the game designer also notes that there are still some game worlds that need more work and others that have not been revealed to the public. Overall it appears the game still won’t be seeing store shelves for a while.

Given the information about the 3rd “Kingdom Hearts” game, Nomura then talks about the anticipated remake of “Final Fantasy VII.” He confirms that the game is steadily being developed. Nomura also apologized to fans due to the long wait they have to endure, but also assured them that they would release a game that meets everybody’s expectations.

Square Enix’s Tetsuya Nomura mentions “last year, I didn’t put out much information” about “Kingdom Hearts III” and “Final Fantasy VII Remake.” Additionally, he claims that he “wants to show our progress at an event somewhere.” Finally, Nomura hints about many titles coming this year and if fans can wait for any suprises.
