Injustice 2 Black Manta release date: Xbox One DLC live as PS4 players wait | Gaming | Entertainment

Injustice 2 Black Manta fans on Xbox One are reporting that the new character is now available to download.

The same has not been confirmed for PS4 players yet, although it could happen at any point from this time on.

PS4 fans have seen their wait times last a little longer than their console counterparts in the past.

One fan commented on the recent trend online, explaining: “The last three DLC characters have came out at 11:00 am EST so it’ll probably be the same here, so around 11:00 am, restart your console and manta should be available to download.”

Black Manta is just the first of a new wave of DLC Fighters which make up the second DLC collection from NetherRealm Studios.

But however long it takes to appear on PS4, Injustice 2 fans will see the launch of Black Manta on September 12, at least for those who own a Special Edition of the game.

It’s likely that the general release of Black Manta will occur the following week, although more is expected to be announced later this week.

Fans may have also noticed that Black Manta has his own character selection slot, that’s currently blacked out on PS4.

The official DLC description from NetherRealm reads: “As forces converge upon Atlantis and its King, a current of vengeance flows through the ruthless undersea mercenary known as Black Manta.

“Sworn to avenge the death of his father, Black Manta has long waited in darkness for his moment to strike.”

Black Manta will be followed by the release of MK’s Raiden and Dark Horse’s Hellboy, both of which will arrive separately in the coming months.

Hellboy is a character created at Dark Horse comics, a half-demon occult detective who may or may not be the Beast of the Apocalypse.

There are, at this moment, 13 Hellboy graphic novel collections, several spin-off titles (BPRD, LOBSTER JOHNSON, ABE SAPIEN and WITCHFINDER), 3 anthologies of prose stories, several novels, 2 animated films and 2 live action films starring Ron Perlman.

And the version of Raiden coming to Injustice 2 is likely to be the one from Mortal Kombat X, who was having a bit of trouble in his own universe.

Shinnok’s attack on Earthrealm included his army of Netherrealm demons, as well as the Earthrealm kombatants that were killed during Kahn’s invasion.

Xbox One news: Conan Exiles update, Injustice 2 DLC leak, Rockstar’s Bully 2 reveal? | Gaming | Entertainment

Conan Exiles on Xbox One has only just been released and is likely to stay in early access for sometime.

Today, Funcom announced that they’re hoping to have the full game launched in Q1 2018, although this is likely subject to change.

This could be just a target for the PC, with the Xbox One to follow a few months later.

It appears that the new crafting-survival title has gotten off to a good start on consoles, with the development team expanding on their recent trials program.

Currently, anyone can download and play Conan Exiles for a short time on Xbox One’s Preview Program.

“Due to popular demand (and to give people a better feel for the game) we’re extending the free trial on Xbox for new downloads,” Funcom announced earlier this week.

It was also recently revealed that Funcom will be launching a new Conan game following the launch of Exiles.

A new Conan the Barbarian IP was recently listed in the company’s latest quarterly report, and is planned to enter pre-production in early 2018.

Funcom have released a statement regarding the timing of the new launch and how it will affect Conan Exiles.

“To clarify: We’re planning another Conan game, but full production won’t start until after Conan Exiles,” a Funcom statement reads.

“Our plans are to continue supporting Conan Exiles after launch, but first we need to concentrate on having the best launch possible.

“Exiles is set for full launch in Q1, 2018. We will make sure it is good and ready before we do anything else.”

A new Injustice 2 DLC leak has surfaced ahead of the launch of the latest characters on PS4 and Xbox One.

While fans were pretty sure that Black Manta was about to enter the fray, they probably couldn’t guess that Hellboy was also going to be included.

Multiple new trailers were released in August, showing off Raiden and Black Manta, before the big reveal of Hellboy emerging from the shadows.

Neither Raiden or Hellboy are part of the DC universe but will netherless help add more variety to the already-packed Injustice 2 characters list.

NetherRealm have confirmed that Black Manta will be the first DLC character launched, with the release date set for September.

According to Kotaku, “The first fighter from the pack will be available when Fighter Pack 2 goes on sale September 12.

“If Fighter Pack 1 was any indication, expect the other two fighters to trickle out over the months to follow.”

And new leaks have arrived online, showing some new images of what Raiden and Hellboy will look like in-game.

Both were posted on Reddit, revealing new Injustice 2 portrait designs for the two characters, which can be found here and here.

There have been reports over what could follow GTA 5 Online and Red Dead Redemption 2 as Rockstar’s next big gaming project.

Hopes were sparked that GTA 6 could be in the works following an admission on a voiceover artist’s CV, however this turned out to be a hoax.

There has even been alleged concept art for one of the studio’s oldest running projects, Agent, appearing online.

But if the most recent rumours are to be believed, Rockstar will not be focusing on any of these franchise.

Instead, the distinguished developer will be turning their attentions to Bully 2.

Game Zone reports that they have spoken to a source who confirms that a sequel in the franchise has been in the works for sometime.

They also claim that it will be big the gaming project announced by Rockstar following the release of Red Dead Redemption 2 in 2018.

According to the source in question, recent concept art leaks connected with Bully 2 are legitimate.

However, there was no further evidence or suggestions for when the project could be announced, or if it would be coming to PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

This isn’t the first talk of a Bully sequel being in the works.

A leaker connected with GTA Online has revealed that Bully is in development and will be the next big release, following the launch of Red Dead Redemption 2.

PS4 news: PlayStation Plus update, GTA 5 Online reveal, Starfire Injustice 2 full launch | Gaming | Entertainment

Time is running out for those who want to avoid the recently announcement PlayStation Plus August price hike.

Announced earlier this year, Sony are set to increase the costs of their subscriber plans, which will affect all PS4 gamers who play a lot of online titles.

The new changes will only affect players in Europe, but time is running out for those who are hoping to save their cash for another 12 months. The company emailed subscribers confirming that the price of PS Plus memberships is increasing from August 31.

Annual PlayStation Plus memberships will increase from £39.99 to £49.99, quarterly prices will rise from £14.99 to £19.99, while monthly prices will go up from £5.99 to £6.99.

“As you are an existing member, this means that all recurring subscription fees payable by you on or after 31 August 2017 will be charged at the new price,” Sony confirmed.

There is, however, a way to save money by stacking PS Plus subscriptions.

PlayStation Plus costs will remain the same up until the end of August, so PS4, PS3 and PlayStation Vita owners can purchase memberships at the existing prices and stack them for the future.

“Up until 31 August 2017, you may purchase a PlayStation Plus subscription at the current price, which will then be added (or “stacked on”) to your current membership period,” sony explains.

The company also gave fans a few tips on cancelling PlayStation Plus memberships before the price increase goes live.

“If you want to prevent your PlayStation Plus membership continuing at the new price, you will need to cancel it,” the post continues. Turn OFF ‘auto-renew’ in your account settings at least 48 hours before your next payment on or after 31 August 2017 is due.”

GTA 5 Online just got another update, which will likely be one of the last major content drops for the most recent expansion, Gunrunning.

Rockstar save a few vehicles and Adversary Modes to launch following the big debut of the Gunrunning DLC earlier this year.

It means that fans have been able to look forward to a few new bits of content, keeping things a little fresher.

GTA 5 Online just enjoyed one of its most profitable months yet on PS4, Xbox One and PC, with Rockstar looking to add the final touches to their Gunrunning update.

This week saw the launch of a new Adversary Mode, as well as a beasting new vehicle, the HVY Nightshark, which comes with front-facing twin machine guns.

“There’s a special moment in the life of every successful arms dealer when you realize that everyone else is out to kill you,” Rockstar posted.

“And when the moment comes, you want a vehicle built exclusively to cater to that particular dilemma.

“Enter the HVY Nightshark, where you can unleash a hail of bullets in total comfort with its front-facing twin machine guns. Welcome to the new business class – now available exclusively from Warstock Cache & Carry.”

There’s also the new mode to try out, with Overtime Shootout challenging players to score the most points through their own driving finesse.

With GTA Online still doing so well, it seems likely that even more DLC content will be launching in the coming months.

Rockstar will be hoping to avoid any major droughts, which could see players leaving the game.

It’s still unclear what could be coming next for the popular online mode, there are still hopes of a map expansion in the future, although the development have said nothing to suggest this is part of their plans.

The release of Starfire on Injustice 2 has already occurred for some players and NetherRealms Studios are poised to give the new characters its full launch.

As in the past, PS4 and Xbox One players with the Deluxe, Ultimate, or Fighter pack versions of Injustice 2 got first access to Princess Koriand’r.

However, this exclusivity only lasts a week and will be followed by Starfire being released as a standalone fighter available to everyone on Tuesday, August 15.

There has been no confirmation on what time Starfire could arrive, but it will be worth checking the game following midnight in Chicago.

For UK players, that will mean that Starfire could be available as early as 6am, BST, but it’ll be worth keeping an eye on the official Injustice 2 Twittch account until then.

NetherRealm’s development team have cautioned that Starfire is a beginners character, meaning she has a smaller moveset.

The design of Starfire is also meant to make pulling off combos more straightforward, as well as using her energy weapons and spin attacks.

Injustice 2 Starfire release date REVEAL: PS4 and Xbox One launch confirmed for TODAY | Gaming | Entertainment

UPDATE: The Injustice 2 Starfire release date has been set for later today by developers, NetherRealm Studios.

Fans are reporting that Starfire is now available to download on Xbox One, although it doesn’t appear that the PS4 has been updated just yet.

This should happen soon, so it’ll be worth refreshing the PlayStation Store in the coming hours.

As in the past, PS4 and Xbox One players with the Deluxe, Ultimate, or Fighter pack versions of Injustice 2 will get access to Princess Koriand’r first.

This exclusivity will last a week and will be followed by Starfire being released as a standalone fighter available to everyone on Tuesday, August 15.

NetherRealm’s development team have cautioned that Starfire is a beginners charater, meaning she has a smaller moveset.

The design of Starfire is also meant to make pulling off combos more straightforward, as well as using her energy weapons and spin attacks.

Many were expecting the details to be announced tonight during the Watchtower Twitch stream event.

But it appears that the Injustice 2 Starfire release date may have been revealed early.

A new post on the official PlayStation website lists the DLC Fighter launch as happening tomorrow, August 8.

Other details supplied on the blog post confirms that the first week will see Starfire released only to those who own the special versions of the game, followed by a general launch next week.

It’s unclear if this information has been confirmed early, the official Injustice 2 Twitter page has yet to post the release date.

A new live stream event is being planned for Starfire, who will be the third DLC character released by NetherRealm Studios.

More on Starfire’s main moveset and strengths will be shown off on Twitch, with the Watchtower event scheduled to kick off at around 9pm, BST.

This can be found on the official Injustice 2 Twitch channel, with fans hoping that more DLC teases could also be revealed.

Last month NetherRealm showed off Starfire gameplay for the first time during San Diego Comic-Con.

Footage showed her floating, flying around and creating weapons and projectiles out of green energy.

The description for the video on YouTube said: “As the next Queen of Tamaran, Princess Koriand’r found herself the victim of her fratricidal sister’s vengeful plot that resulted in their planet being conquered.

“Now a royal exile on Earth, Koriand’r uses her ability to absorb and convert ultraviolet energy as Starfire.”

The fourth fighter being added to the game looks to be Black Manta, following a Reddit user posting an image from the Xbox Store.

A tagline from the screenshot advertises playing as Black Manta in Injustice 2, which would fit in nicely with recent reports suggesting just that.

If Black Manta is added to the game in the future, it will be as part of the new DLC Fight Pack 2, which has yet to be revealed by Netherrealm Studios.

Xbox One news includes Battlegrounds, Backwards Compatibility and Injustice 2

Xbox One fans can look forward to some big new launches this year, starting with Conan Exiles, followed by Injustice 2’s Starfire and at some point, PlayerUknown’s Battlegrounds.

A new live stream event is being planned for Monday, April 7, for Starfire, which will be the third DLC character released by NetherRealm Studios.

It seems likely that tomorrow will be when we find out the Starfire release date, with the Watchtower event scheduled to kick off at around 9pm, BST.

This can be found on the official Injustice 2 Twitch channel and will likely include more details on Starfire’s moveset.

Last month NetherRealm showed of Starfire gameplay for the first time during San Diego Comic-Con.

Starfire is expected to have a release date in Injustice 2 sometime during August, players who have already purchased Fighter Pack 1 will get Starfire as part of their purchase.

While not fully fledged exclusives, Conan Exiles and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will be launching this year on Microsoft’s Xbox One.

While both are likely to have release dates on PS4 in the future, they won’t be arriving in 2017.

And for a console without many exclusives to boast, it will be a welcome boost against the Nintendo Switch and PS4.

The popular PC survival game will make its Xbox Game Preview program debut on August 16, although it should be noted that it will remain in the beta phase until at least 2018.

It was also revealed that Conan Exiles will be an Xbox One X Enhanced title when the console launches this Fall, meaning that Funcom are likely planning a pacy development phase.

The Xbox One version of the game will be up to date with the PC when it arrives in August, with a free expansion launching alongside the new Preview Program title.

And as you might expect, there’s a lot of hype surrounding PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds right now.

Having made a big impact on Steam, Bluehole Inc. are now looking to bring the smash-hit shooter to consoles.

It’s currently confirmed as being in development for Xbox One, although a PS4 port is expected to follow sometime in the future.

This has led to questions over how Battlegrounds on Xbox One will fare, especially when it comes down to the development cycle.

Some questions over how resources may have changed, due to their now being two versions of the game being worked on, were answered by creator Brendan Greene to CNET.

“We have a great team, our partner Anticto based in Spain, and they’re doing most of the Xbox development. The core team is just three Spaniards who are super intelligent,” Greene revealed.

“They did the level streaming system for our PC version that works really well, so they’re the core Xbox developer, basically.

“When people heard we were moving to Xbox, they’re like “Oh! Never going to finish the PC version!” because that’s the way it is, but Anticto are based in a different country, so the resources that have been dedicated to the PC version haven’t been diminished.

The Xbox One Backwards Compatibility games list expanded this week with two new Xbox 360 classics joining the lineup.

The likes of Disney Epic Mickey 2 & Sega Vintage Collection: ToeJam & Earl joined the Backwards Compatibility games list on August 3.

These new games are more low-key launches than Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition and Tomb Raider Underworld which arrived last month.

The Capcom title has over 22,000 votes on the official Backwards Compatible leaderboards, so fans will be pleased to see it finally arrive.

Tomb Raider Underworld, meanwhile, has just over 8,000 and helped push the Microsoft program past the 400-mark, in terms of titles.

As you might expect, this week’s collection of titles have much lower amounts of requests, with Sega Vintage Collection: ToeJam & Earl and Disney’s Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two boasting around 1,500, votes each.

Backwards Compatible games can be accessed in the My Games and Apps section of the Xbox One dashboard.

Alternatively, you can access the games by inserting the original disc.

As many who have read the comics will know, the Superman clone appears midway through the fight between Superman and Batman, although has little impact on the actual storyline.

Boon shared the first image of the new Premier skin, adding: “That’s Bizarre…. OH, maybe he’s an Injustice 2 skin!?”

Premier Skins usually come with different movesets, so expect some switcheroos going on with superman’s normal powers.

Premier Skins cost 6,000 source crystals, with more likely to be revealed in the near future.

Confronting racial injustice 100 years after the Silent Parade

It was a mid-summer day in New York City. Nearly 10,000 African Americans—men, women and children—gathered on Fifth Avenue. The women wore white; the men dark suits. They were there to protest. Yet there were no songs or chants. They marched in silence, demanding an end to racial violence in America.

The date was July 28, 1917.

Organized by the NAACP, including leaders W.E.B Du Bois and James Weldon Johnson, the Silent Parade was one of the first mass protests against lynching and anti-black violence in America. Protestors demanded that President Woodrow Wilson take legislative action to protect African Americans, as thousands had been lynched since the end of the Civil War. Despite the silence of the parade’s participants, their signs spoke volumes. “Treat us so that we may love our country,” one sign read—a message that continues to resonate.

Today’s Doodle honors the 100th anniversary of the protest; a moment in American history that was critical in shaping both the impending civil rights movement and the world we live in today.

A hundred years later, the fight for racial justice in the United States continues, especially in the criminal justice system. More than 60 percent of people in prison are people of color, and stories like Philando Castile’s continue to reveal the devastating consequences of racial bias. grantee the Equal Justice Initiative and Executive Director Bryan Stevenson are working to challenge these inequalities both in and outside of the courtroom. In their recent collaboration with Google, EJI created an interactive site, bringing together EJI’s in-depth research on the history of lynching with the stories behind it. Lynching in America is intended to inspire a conversation about our past and the work required to build a better future.

The Myles/Dedman family visiting Shreveport, LA, where in 1912 their relative Thomas Miles, Sr., was lynched. This is one of many photos included in the Legacy of Lynching exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum.

The Equal Justice Initiative has also collaborated with Google on an exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum that further explores the impact of this history. The Legacy of Lynching (open now until September 3), presents EJI’s research—through film, oral histories and interactive maps—and aligns it with the work of notable artists such as Sanford Biggers and Kara Walker.

“There are times it’s not really possible to confront the obstacles that many of us have to confront without a soundtrack or without an image,” Bryan Stevenson said at the exhibit’s opening this week. “The kind of inspiration that these artists bring, gives us the courage to do the exhausting things that have to be done to create justice. That’s what I’m hoping we’ll feel—a little bit of inspiration—to go tell these stories. To begin talking about this history. And to have the courage to do it, even when it’s uncomfortable and unpleasant.”

Bryan Stevenson in conversation with artists Sanford Biggers, Glenn Ligon and poet Elizabeth Alexander at the opening of the exhibit.

The Equal Justice Initiative believes that addressing this history of racial injustice is essential to better understanding our present. They are one of many racial justice organizations that we’re proud to support with grants, alongside partnerships with National Urban League, Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies, Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law and the Leadership Conference for Civil and Human Rights. Together we hope to build a more just and inclusive world for everyone.

Tekken 7 and Injustice 2 Brawl, Crash Bandicoot Sees Strong Launch

PS4 led the pack again for hardware sales in June 2017 thanks to Sony’s new release of a gold PS4 slim, though the month marked a strong growth for hardware in general. “It was the best performing June for PlayStation 4 unit sales to date,” said NPD analyst Mat Piscatella. The Nintendo Switch has helped hardware sales in general to surge, but there has been a strong decline in portable hardware sales. “Year to date, hardware spending has grown 19 percent versus 2016 to $1.4 billion,” said Piscatella. “The Nintendo Switch has been the catalyst for year-to-date growth. But portable hardware spending continues to decline. Year-to-date, spending on portable hardware has fallen 40 percent.”

Apart from accessory sales which fell by 1% to $159 million, total industry sales were up by 7% year-on-year in June 2017 to $765 million. Hardware saw a particularly big boost — up 27% over June 2016 to $231 million — which is largely credited to the Nintendo Switch and Sony’s gold slim PS4. Console and PC software were each up by 1% and 2% to 343 million and 32 million respectively.

Looking towards software sales, fighting games come out on top for the second month in a row, with Injustice 2 only dropping to second after Tekken 7 released in June. Injustice 2 took the top spot in May. Piscatella notes “June marks the second consecutive month that a newly-released fighting game has topped the sales chart.” Crash Bandicoot also landed at an impressive fourth place considering it only released on the PS4 and was only available for the final two days of NPD’s tracking period. “Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy is the first Crash Bandicoot franchise game to debut in the top 5 since Crash Bandicoot: Warped, which launched on the Sony PlayStation in November 1998.,” Piscatella said.

Injustice 2 Sub Zero release LIVE for PS4 and Xbox One Fighter Pack fans | Gaming | Entertainment

UPDATE ONE: The Injustice 2 Sub Zero release has gone live for some fans on PS4 and Xbox One.

This includes those who own the Fighter Pack 1, the Ultimate Pack, the Ultimate Edition, or the Digital Deluxe Edition of Injustice 2.

As with the Red Hood, Sub Zero is not available as a standalone purchase, which means that while some fans maybe able to buy him on online stores, he won’t be playable yet.

Sub Zero should go live for everyone on July 18, costing around $6.

“Sub-Zero is a lethal cryomancer and leader of the reformed Lin Kuei clan,” the official character description explains.

“When Sub-Zero was younger, the Lin Kuei were corrupted and destroyed from within, staining their honor. Now serving as Grandmaster, Sub-Zero vows to redeem that honor, pledging to defend the realm from threats near, far, and beyond. In the intergalactic menace Brainiac, Sub-Zero sees a threat to all worlds, and perhaps his greatest opportunity for redemption yet.”

For anyone interested in Sub Zero’s moveset, fans on Reddit have put together a list, which can be found at the bottom of this article.

Injustice 2 will see the launch of its second DLC character tomorrow, July 11, on PS4 and Xbox One.

The new Sub-Zero DLC includes some pretty nifty moves, with Netherrealm recently showing off the Cryomancer’s ice klone combos and other defensive abilities.

But while the Injustice 2 Sub Zero release date has been set, it’s still not known what exact time the new character will go live.

As the studio is runs on US Central Time, it’s possible we could see a launch in the UK at around 6am.

That would only be if Netherrealm decide to release Sub Zero at midnight, which isn’t something that has happened in the past.

More could be confirmed on the subject ahead of time, some fans have already started seeing a pre-download option pop up.

So far it appears to be limited to Australia and New Zealand but it’s likely to start rolling out further on PS4 and Xbox One in the coming hours.

Those who have been able to download Sub Zero can’t actually access him yet in-game, so fans will have to wait for the official launch.

A new Watchtower stream is planned for July 11 at around 9pm UK time, however, this will be focused on the mobile game.

Ahead of launch, fans on Reddit have put together a list of Sub Zero abilities, which can be found below:

Barrier of Frost (Level 10) – An ice shield forms in front of Sub-Zero that will parry the opponent’s attack & absorb projectiles. Meter Burning Barrier of Frost will freeze the opponent.

Ice Port (Level 20) – Sub-Zero quickly teleports & reappears behind or away from opponent.

Hammer Slam – Meter Burning Air Frost Hammer will launch the opponent into the air allowing for follow up.

Frozen Aura – Encases Sub-Zero’s body with ice allowing him to take less damage & inflict damage to opponent that strike him.
