The DSi console from Nintendo is really getting a very nice public acceptance. With the next iteration having better gaming goodness, it also has always been true to the tradition of Nintendo making their games enjoyable even for all ages.
The new features o the Nintendo DSi is simply an addition to the past hardware revisions. There is the noticeable addition of a .3 megapixel camera which is inside and outside the shell of the console.
With its physical appearance, the Nintendo DSi console has been slimmed down to 2.6mm which is 12% thinner than the Nintendo DS Lite, making it more New Features of the Nintendo DSi

Another is the screen upsize. The common size of the DS screen is 3 inches. Nintendo added an additional .25 inches to have better view of the games being played. As we all know, all of the DS handheld consoles have dual touch screens, making it better even for an additional quarter of an inch in screen size.
The next is the improved speakers. The new Nintendo DSi now offers music playback. Although only AAC file types are accepted, it is a very nice addition due to other versions can not play music files.
Nintendo also improved the outer shell surface of the DSi console, substituting the glossy finish to a matte finish. This is due to the shiny finish always attracts too much fingerprints.
Next is the relocation of the power switch. It is also replaced with a power button in which the previous DS had. It is now placed on the bottom left of the touch screen. There are also notable features of the new power button. The power button can also be used to soft reset to return to the main menu which can allow the users to play a different game without having to power off the system.
Another notable addition is the higher screen brightness settings. The usual DS Lite only has 4 settings of brightness. The new Nintendo DSi now has 5 brightness settings to compensate for outdoor playing.
With all these new screen-related features, the battery life was shortened. The usual game time of a single charge is 15-19 hours. The new iteration now only has 9-14. Still, those numbers are better than the Sony PSP's 5 hour game time.
In terms of technical specifications, the new DSi console has four times more ram that its previous models. It has now 16mb of internal ram and has new WPA and WPA2 support.
There is also the new DSi shop which is an online store for the handheld console. They can download additional software, games, and other downloadable goodies on the online store. With any new Nintendo DSi console that visited the site before March 2010 receives a free 1,000 Nintendo points which can then be spent for great applications.
With all the new features of the DSi, Nintendo surely hit the right spot. With being an instant hit in Japan, the sales all over the world can always be the same. The new DSi will be shipping in April 2-5, 2009 on the rest of the world.
