  1. i was not born in the 90s but i have played on both of the consoles and i say PS1 and plus in my family we all love playing tekken

  2. In my opinion, the Sony PlayStation 1 kicks the Nintendo 64's butt because the N64 had a very uncomfortable controller because the joystick was hard to reach. The best Nintendo controller in my opinion is the GameCube controller because it is arguably the best comfortable Nintendo controller ever. Sony's controllers are awesome because the DualShock controllers had vibration functions and two joysticks for your thumbs. As much as I love Nintendo, the N64 was lacking some good fighting games such as Street Fighter, Tekken or any other fighting game series. The only fighting game the N64 had was the very first Super Smash Bros. game.

  3. The Playstation had CDs, but N64 had Ocarina of Time.
The PS had some better games, but N64 had Ocarina of Time
The controller of the PS was a little bit better, but the N64 had Ocarina of Time
    N64 Wins

  4. I had both back then (and still have them) and I must say I spent playing N64 more. Goldeneye, Mario 64, Doom 64, Conquer, Mario Kart, Banjo_&Kazooie…honestly those games were so much better than anything on PSX that my PSX was mostly waiting and I played only RPGs on it. I loved Xenogears – my favorite PSX game and it was on par with N64 games I mentioned.

  5. Its a tie…jsut take another N64 controller and you have a winner 😀 plus Sony only copied Nintendo and it still does it.

  6. Would go with PS1 games, hands down! Tekken 3 is the best fighter ever, MGS was the most mindblowing game at the time, Final Fantasy, Gran Turismo, Resident Evil, Soul Reaver, Siphon Filter, Twisted Metal, Castlevania, Spiderman, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Rayman – I could honestly keep going.

  7. before i transfer to sony i had an nes,and even though i did have fun with my nes and it did have good games,in my opinion ps1 won me over because it had more mature titles,it had variety, the games were more fun and the graphics were better

  8. I think they missed a opportunity to compare them sound wise. They compared their graphics but not the sound they could produce.

  9. Well, these are the sales figures of total sales, compared to every single product

    Best-selling game consoles by firm[edit]
Total amount of every console with at least 1 million units sold.

    Million-selling game consoles by firm
    Manufacturer Home
    console sales Handheld
    console sales Total sales
    Nintendo 283.67 million 415.79 million 699.46 million
    Sony >388.69 million 95 million >483.69 million
    Microsoft 118 million – 118 million
    Sega 59.14–62.14 million >14.02 million >76.16 million
    Atari 31 million >1 million >32 million
    Hudson Soft/NEC 10 million – 10 million
    Bandai – 3.5 million 3.5 million
    Coleco >3 million – >3 million
    Magnavox/Philips >3 million – >3 million
    Mattel 3 million – 3 million
    Nokia – 3 million 3 million

It's funny that we Americans trash Nintendo, but by total sales. They have sold more products than any other gaming manufacture in history as of right now proving that Shigeru Miyamoto is a god among men. Shigeru Miyamoto games were not graphically magical or groundbreaking, but as he would tell you there are three legendary words that most people miss. And that is (Fun)

  10. Sony slammed Nintendo to the ground with PS1. Need reasons ?

Sony Playstation is a perfect example, when design and marketing hits the ten points and delivers very well done product. Sony didn't rush or mess around with it, they carefully researched gaming industry and carefully designed everything and in the process, changed the whole gaming world. Dual Shock is perfect example of design-porn. They managed to outclass Nintendo 64 with only that, since it had twice the stuff in it, without needing any expansion packs. PS1 has also amazing sound, it sounds superb even by today's standards on a home theatre audio. And it works as very good CD player as well with vizualizations, how cool was that back in the 90's.

And the games ? Oh boy, 64 don't have a chance. Yes, there is some classics on the 64 of course, but PS1 have those 20 times more. The only reason why some people still hail Nintendo 64 over the PS1 is Mario, Zelda and Donkey Kong games.

In the end, it's all about two different philosophies of both companies.

Nintendo has always been about the joy of playing games and having simple fun > toys of children

Sony has always been about giving the best entertaiment equipment to people, to enjoy > toys for adult

Pick your side, but remember, Sony can always be light hearted, when it wants, but Nintendo never can't be badass.
