Hello there, welcome to another round up of news that wasn’t quite exciting enough to get it’s own post. Pity this news, give it hugs and make it a cup of tea, or at least pay it a little bit of attention so it feels better.
You may be surprised to know – and I certainly am – that we’re fast approaching the 300th edition of News Snatch as it first hit the screens eight years ago. I’ve been reporting on improbable boobs for eight years, which is both amazing and also making me wonder what the hell I have done with my life. There will be a couple of specials as we reach issue 300 so keep an eye out for them.
Anyways, back to today and we begin with a trailer featuring a load of ‘experiences’ which are coming to PlayStation VR, none of which a VR smut. Meh.
If you thought games like Destiny or Call of Duty get lots of trailers they are nothing compared to the stream of videos that NetherRealm dish out when they have a new game. Every smegging character gets a trailer, and as their games usually have huge rosters the combine running time of their trailers compares with the extended versions of the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Here is the latest one from Injustice 2, which features feline minx, Catwoman.
Then we have another for Captain Cold…
… and finally, another video which explains more of the back story.
BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment UK (who insists on CAPITAL LETTERS) revealed today an exclusive new teaser trailer for its new GOD EATER project! Whoop whoop! We’re told that the calamity that devoured Fenrir continues and a new generation of Gods has begun. Blimey.
A super short Star Trek: Bridge Crew trailer which shows off the original Enterprise bridge. She cannae take it, Captain, etc. I note that the female crew are wearing their traditional mini skirts so anyone want to take a bet on how long it will be before someone uses VR to perv?
APB Reloaded launched on PS4 the other week, not that anyone noticed. The game has a few technical problems, which the team hope to fix shortly.
As you know APB Reloaded gives you the ability to customize your characters to an unbelievably high level (one of our favorite features), but the downside is that the system creates the custom character textures and shapes in real-time based on each player’s character data, and then pushes the content to everyone else who happens to be in the same district. The code breaks this complex process down into smaller components and spreads the work over multiple frames, but there appears to be an issue with performance on PS4 which causes some of the computations to take considerably longer than expected when combined with real world customized characters and the number of characters that load in and out of a district in a session (especially in Social).
We are right now working hard on a new build that will dramatically reduce this effect, and have been working on fixes we can quickly get in to the first patch. Then we are planning a more extensive overhaul in subsequent patches to eliminate the issue.
Two thirds of the crashes from the first weekend were due to a single memory issue (again related to the complexity of real world custom characters), and we have identified the cause and are testing a fix in the live environment right now. Once it passes Sony QA we’ll push it out to live which should remove the main stability issue in that first patch.
More fisticuffs, with Lars having it out with Shaheen in this trailer for Tekken 7.
And Finally, boobs. Boobs you can jiggle in a rhythm action mini game, boobs you can put a crystal between because reasons, and just more boobs. This is Omega Labyrinth Z which is coming to PS4 and PS Vita – in Japan, of course.
