The abominable Snowman Apple products – AirPower – resurfaced. But we will believe that the myth of the technological monster is real when we see it.
The Hong Kong-based ChargerLAB website has reported, via a "credible source," that AirPower wireless charging mats are already in production. Separately, an application developer mentioned that he had heard that Apple had solved its production problems with AirPower. Taken together, these developments suggest that long-gestation technology may finally become a reality.
Breaking: AirPower finally arrives. A credible source in the supply chain has just told us that Luxshare Precision has already started producing an Apple AirPower wireless charging pad. Luxshare Precision is also the manufacturer of Apple AirPod and USB-C cables. pic.twitter.com/UqgWIAh3sx

We heard this song and dance before, though.
AirPower was the wireless charging pad introduced by Apple in 2017. But since that first game, we have seen nada, zip, zilch of any actual materialization.
In March 2018, it was also proven that AirPower would arrive "any day now", as Mashable had previously announced. But in April, a Bloomberg report said the product was in trouble.
Since then, carpets are obviously missing from Apple events, where they always go unnoticed. Reports have circulated that production was struggling with overheating and interference issues. Some even reported that the project was totally canceled.
Mashable senior technical correspondent Raymond Wong is also skeptical.

Where are we with AirPower? Canceled or coming?
With the number of rumors circulating around this product launch, it's just too early to say. Until we get a real announcement from Apple, we'll assume that AirPower is what it's been for months: nowhere.
