ORIGINAL STORY – Earlier Friday morning Epic made the unprecedented move to announce Fortnite for mobile and tablet devices, further cementing the games continued rise, arguably to heights greater than rival PUBG..

The best of all though is that the wait for this new way to play Fortnite Battle Royale isn’t even that far away, with Epic Games stating that they will start this mobile rollout this coming Monday.

This isn’t to say that players will be getting a lesser experience, as the developers have promised the Same gameplay, same map, same content”.

Fortnite Mobile will also bring cross-platform play and cross progression between PS4, Xbox, PC, Mac, iOS and Android.

However, the cross-platform play and cross progression will not work between PS4 and Xbox, because, well, we know why.

Speaking about their future vision for the game, the developer said: “We believe this is the future of games. The same game on all platforms.

“Console quality graphics and action. Play when you want, where you want.”

Ahead of the launch of Fortnite Mobile, we’ve rounded up everything you need to know.

Fortnite Battle Royale on mobile doesn’t have a release date just yet, however, based on whats been communicated by Epic Games so far, it doesn’t appear as though we’ll be waiting all that long.

It’s possible though that first Epic Games could hold a test period for the game on mobile because, as we’ll get to, the developers are holding sign-ups for an “invite event”.

This is only on iOS and all communication regarding the Android release has suggested that it could still be “in the next few months.”

Starting this coming Monday, March 12, sign-up at will be open for the Invite Event on Apple iOS devices.

Epic has not said when precisely on Monday the sign ups will be, but we wouldn’t be surprised if the website chugs to a standstill as everyone fights to sign up ti the event.

Email invites will start rolling out “soon thereafter” but no official date has been shared just yet.

“When you are invited, you will receive an email with a link to download the game from the App Store. If you don’t receive an invite right away, don’t worry. We’ll be adding more players regularly over the coming months,” epic warned.

Players who do receive invites from Epic will also get additional friend invite codes to share with friends.

As mentioned the Android version of Fortnite mobile could still be some time.

For now then, Epic Games have only revealed the Fortnite mobile requirements for iOS Apple devices.

Here is what iPhone or iPad you’ll need to play Fortnite mobile and the required version of iOS:

• Fortnite mobile players on Apple devices will need an internet connection and iOS 11

• Fortnite mobile players for iPhones will need to be running at least an iPhone 6S or an iPhone SE
