Roti canai, teh tarik, sate, MBPJ and more in Lestallum of FFXV.

As most of you might know by due to the virality of the news, one of Square Enix’s lead game designers on the culture team who’s heavily involved in the making of Final Fantasy XV (FFXV), the RPG video game, is Wan Hazmer from Malaysia. He managed to put in some Malaysian culture into the game and we can already experience it as early as Chapter 2 when the player visits the (fictional) city of Lestallum.

  1. The roti canai price reminds me of how ridiculously expensive they are outside of Malaysia. Not to the level where it's more expensive than a stay in the hotel though lol.

  2. Roti Canai [CHECK]
    NISSIN Cup Noodle [CHECK]
    Sate [CHECK]
    "Bang, teh tarek bang." [CHECK]

damn, I wanna go to Melaka again… WHY OUR COUNTRIES MUST BE SEPARATED BY MALACCA STRAIT!? WHY CAN'T I JUST DRIVE THERE!? IT'S CLOSE TO SUMATRA FFS!!! RIAU PROVINCE IS JUST ACROSS MELAKA, GODDAMNIT!!!

  3. That roti canai looks really good! and I like how they included the different curries too. And the guy doing the teh tarik forever has me in tears lol! It's hilarious he's pulling tea forever :')

  4. The things that you may not be able to relate to as much may be due to Lestallum is a city with influences from a mix of Moroccan and Malaysian culture. But hey, can't deny i was pleasantly surprised to see things that I'm familiar with in real life in the game :p
