There are a lot of great games that we’d love to see at next week’s PlayStation Experience – so many, in fact, that we even made a list just to keep notes on what ends up being revealed. However, one of those listed titles could very well appear, if a certain industry insider is to be believed.
Shinobi602, a noted member of the NeoGAF community who’s got a pretty decent track record with predictions, has noted that The Last of Us 2 could be announced at PlayStation Experience, now that the developers at Naughty Dog are just about finished on development for Uncharted 4‘s downloadable content.
Said Shinobi in the post below, with a picture of Ellie accompanying the text, “Maybe you don’t have to wait that long.” However, he stopped short of giving any other details, and simply stated that it’s time to ride the “hype train.”
Naughty Dog hasn’t detailed exactly what it’s doing yet at PlayStation Experience, although we do know that Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End‘s Survival mode will make its debut at the event, where players have to fend off incoming waves of enemies. Sony has already noted that this portion of the game will be hands-on.
Still, it would be kind of nice to see what Naughty Dog is working on next, and a follow-up to its harrowing survival/adventure game would be a golden ticket for many fans. A recent remastered version of the original The Last of Us was produced for the PlayStation 4, bringing thousands of new fans on board for the franchise. So it would certainly have an audience.
Now it’s just a matter of playing the waiting game and seeing what emerges with The Last of Us 2. We’ll be at next week’s event, so we’ll let you know if it’s officially been announced or not. In the meantime, keep those fingers crossed.
